Zirconia Rod & Tube Overview

Zirconia rods and tubes are highly refractory materials known for their exceptional thermal stability and chemical inertness. Capable of withstanding temperatures up to 2400°C, they significantly surpass the melting point of alumina. Zirconia is stabilized in a cubic crystal structure to prevent cracking and mechanical degradation during thermal cycling. In addition to their impressive thermal properties, zirconia exhibits low thermal conductivity and becomes an electrical conductor above 800°C. Notably, it facilitates the movement of oxygen ions through its crystal structure at temperatures exceeding 600°C.

Features of Zirconia Rods & Tubes

  • High Density: Ensures durability and structural integrity.
  • Super Hardness: Exceptional resistance to wear and abrasion.
  • Low Thermal Conductivity: Maintains thermal efficiency in high-temperature applications.
  • Chemical Inertness: Resistant to corrosion from a wide range of chemicals.
  • Resistance to Molten Metals: Ideal for use in harsh environments.
  • Good Wear Resistance: Extends the lifespan of components.
  • High Fracture Toughness: Provides resilience under stress.
